Microsoft New Zealand announced on July 17 that New Zealand is in the top 3 Xbox territories worldwide - read between the lines and that means we're in third place. Launching in New Zealand nine months ago, Xbox has sold more than 35,000 consoles and Microsoft is claiming that it now holds a 34% market share of the video gaming market, based on console sales figures from the previous six months. How this pans out against overall market growth in the flourishing game industry is not clear - there is a clear lack of definitive market statistics. | ||
