Australian modchip developer AussieChip has taken the unprecedented move of releasing the blueprints of its Xbox modchip designs to the Open Source community. The company, which also runs an online store selling versions of its modchips to Australian enthusiasts, has made available the designs for both its Dualmod and Cheapmod modchips. The reason for such a move is purely due to the support the company has received from the modchip community. As a way of repaying this support, AussieChip felt it was the right thing to do to release its knowledge so the community that helped it so much can also benefit. The company has also stated that it will continue to release designs when they are available, with no more than three months between release for purchase and Open Source design release.
