No. 1 software maker Microsoft Corp. MSFT.O announced two deals with authentication service providers on Tuesday that will allow users to digitally sign and seal electronic documents.
Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft said it will work with security and authentication services provider VeriSign Inc. VRSN.O to develop and deliver more secure computer network systems and digital authentication for large companies.
Companies are increasingly turning to digital authentication as a way to verify the origins, author and details of electronic documents, instead of shuffling paper documents that need official approval.
