CRN first reported on Lotus' low-end attack on Microsoft Exchange early this year: (See story.) A spokesman for IBM's Lotus Software Group would not confirm pricing, but said the Web mail offering will be "really cheap." (For more on Workplace.) Workplace Messaging, along with Oracle's Collaboration Suite, represent two credible assaults on Microsoft Exchange Server accounts at the low end, industry observers have said. The Lotus product primarily targets workers on factory floors or elsewhere who might not have dedicated PCs but need e-mail access from shared kiosks or terminals. | ||
