Caledonian University based in Glasgow, Scotland recently opened a game research center on campus for intensive study in the field of videogame design. The opening of the center coincides with the university's decision to offer a Masters program in Game Technology. Reportedly, the school plans to begin offering undergraduate degrees of videogame design and associated studies next fall. Much of the cost associated with building the research center was provided by Microsoft, which also supplied Caledonian University with research materials for the Xbox console.
