As AIDS continues to be a problem in Australia and destroys families and communities in horrific numbers in Africa and Asia, it has attracted the attention of the world's richest man. This month Bill Gates, the co-founder of the Microsoft empire, was in India donating $100 million to an initiative to combat the spread of AIDS. For the multi-billionaire, it's pocket money. But the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is a major player in international philanthropy, donating 45.5 billion dollars to charity in the past five years. | ||
