The folks over at Voodoo Extreme pointed us to a discussion at SlashDot about a recent leak of a supposed Doom 3 demo. The file recently began making it's way around the Internet, and id Software's president, John Carmack, says it is anything but an official release.
According to his statement, the file was not leaked on purpose or provided otherwise. id is very upset about the leak and they are already making changes in how they deal with some companies because of it. In addition, Carmack writes, "Making any judgements from a snapshot intended for a non-interactive demo is ill advised."
The highly-anticipated first-person horror game is currently in development by id. No firm system requirements have been provided, however the game is expected in 2003.
