Microsoft Corp. said Wednesday it has signed a new food-services agreement with Compass Group North America and Thompson Hospitality Corp. worth $50 million to $70 million per year. Sterling, Va.-based Thompson, one of the nation's largest minority-owned contract food-service companies, and Charlotte, N.C.-based Compass Group will jointly manage food-service operations serving 35,000 Microsoft employees in five states. The contract also calls for Thompson and Compass Group to provide full event management for Microsoft's conference services, including a 143,000-square-foot conference center at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond.
