SquareSoft has unveiled that it will be continuing the Final Fantasy game lineage - but with some familiar characters.
Spurning a tradition that has practically ranged from the start of the series, Japanese RPG master, Square, will be continuing the story of Final Fantasy's priestess and Aeon summoner, Yuna, spinning off from the popular PlayStation2 title, FFX.
Although Yuna will be the focus of the game, it's expected to have a couple other characters from FFX including Blitzball player, Rikku. However, Yuna's appearance and style has changed, while a revamp of the combat system and new skills are expected to be shown.
Little else of the game has been revealed yet, but expect more news as we get it. Final Fantasy X2 should reach Japan early spring, 2003. US and European dates will be confirmed early next year.
