Sony's latest VAIO consumer computer is unlike any Windows PC you've seen.
It's a one-piece machine, much like Apple's iMac or Gateway's Profile 4, but it has a personality all its own. Its integrated keyboard folds up, for one thing, leaving only about a third of its extra-wide LCD screen visible.
This triggers a transformation, turning the PC into a stereo-like appliance with a digital clock, alluring animations and access to Sony's music-jukebox software so that users can pipe tunes through two built-in speakers.
Place the computer in a public place with the keyboard folded up, and you're guaranteed to draw a crowd (we did). In fact, the W reportedly is popular in Japan, which has seen several generations of the device.
