Microsoft Reverses Course on XP Home Edition Feature | |

Early this morning, Microsoft released a new interim build (build 2486) of Windows XP (formerly code-named Whistler) that includes an unexpected change: XP Home Edition now supports multiple monitors, including dualview, just like XP Professional Edition. Microsoft has been wrestling with defining the differences between XP Home and XP Pro, and the company initially targeted XP Pro only for multiple-monitor support. I guess enough games and consumer-grade applications support the technology that Microsoft has decided to implement this feature in its consumer edition as well. | ||
