Gates Shrugs Off Jobs Criticisms, Takes Credit for Mac's Success (Video)
Time: 10:32 EST/15:32 GMT | News Source: PC Magazine | Posted By: Robert Stein

Philanthropist and ex-Microsoft chief executive Bill Gates put aside criticisms of him by the late Steve Jobs in an interview over the weekend, taking some credit for the Mac's creation as well. Gates claimed that Microsoft did "the key software" for the Mac, presumably its Office suite. Gates appeared on ABC's "This Week with Christiane Amanpour," ABC's topical news and interview show, on Sunday. (The video is embedded below.) There, Amanpour asked Gates about his role as the co-founder of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the state of the economy, as well as the late Steve Jobs. "Steve Jobs did a fantastic job," Gates said, characterizing him as someone who helped shape the role information plays within the personal computer, the Internet, and the phone.
