Microsoft is taking the offensive this week in its antitrust trial against the nine non-settling states, with a series of witnesses expected to testify that consumers benefit from a single, standard Windows operating system. More than 30 possible witnesses are set to speak in the software giant's defense, nearly double the number the non-settling states presented over a four-week period. A host of Microsoft employees, including chairman Bill Gates and CEO Steve Ballmer, are among the potential witnesses.
