Microsoft next month plans to release service packs to enable Commerce Server 2002 and Content Management Server 2002 to run on the latest Windows Server 2003 operating system.
Currently, solution providers wanting to move customers on those e-business servers to Windows Server 2003 find it a rough row to hoe and are waiting for code to facilitate the transition.
A Microsoft spokeswoman said the company is working on the problem. Service Pack 1 for Content Management Server 2002 is slated to ship Aug. 1. That will add support as well for Visual Studio .Net 2003 and the .Net Framework 1.1. Commerce Server 2003 Service Pack 2 will add analogous support for that server software and is slated to ship Aug. 15, the spokeswoman said. Such service packs are typically downloadable from Microsoft's Web site.
