Here's some really cool news straight from David Lynch's official website. Making one of his regular appearances on the site's chatroom, Mr. Lynch mentioned that he has been working dilligently on color-correction and timing for MGM's upcoming Wild at Heart DVD. The film is apparently also set to undergo a complete 5.1 audio overhaul. Wild at Heart is tentatively set for an October release; look for more details on it as they come in.
In Twin Peaks news, French distributor MK2 is on the verge of funding the restoration of the legendary deleted scenes for their Region 2 Fire Walk With Me DVD. If you recall, the R1 New Line disc was originally set to include an estimated 1 hour of deleted footage - provided the scenes were professionally completed and the sound remixed. Funding for the project was put off, timetables passed, and we then ended up with a bare-bones disc.
And in case they need a little more prodding, take a few moments to e-mail MK2 and let them know how important these deleted scenes are to fans everywhere. This may be the last opportunity we have to see this footage and, for that matter, anything new related to Twin Peaks!
