Yahoo gets $78M from Microsoft as search deal spins up
Remember last summer, when Microsoft said it would have some transitional costs for its newly announced search partnership with Yahoo? Turns out that's $150 million, and $78 million has already gone to the Internet company.
That's what Yahoo said when it announced first-quarter earnings Tuesday. Its profit nearly tripled over the year ago period, reaching $310 million in the quarter ended March 30.
