Anti-virus solution coming from Microsoft? | |

We recently reported on how Microsoft have released a beta version of their new anti-spyware product. This product is based around the Giant Anti-Spyware product, a company that Microsoft bought out recently. Well, anti-spyware firms are not the only companies that Microsoft have been buying out. They also bought out anti-virus firm GeCAD back in 2003, and rumours are starting to surface that Microsoft will shortly be offering some form of anti-virus product in partnership with its anti-spyware software. This is the sort of news that will be upsetting both major anti-virus vendors, and those who don't like the monopolistic approach Microsoft have been know to take when entering new markets. There is no indication as yet that Microsoft are intending to bundle such a product with their Operating Systems, but such as step is certainly possible. | ||
