Already in production, 20th Century Fox's Daredevil DVD may feature an alternate version of the film. Speaking to The Calgary Sun, director Mark Steven Johnson discussed many of the cuts the film underwent on its way to final release. Among them, an entire courtroom sub-plot featuring rapper Coolio as an innocent murder suspect being defended by Matt Murdock. There were also many other scenes which were cut from the final print. "You'll see a very different movie on the DVD. We had to tone down quite a bit of the violence to get our [PG-13] rating for the cinema release," according to Johnson, "and there are important scenes for each of the major characters that had to be trimmed". The director also mentions that he hasn't decided if early Daredevil costume tests will be included - many looked ridiculous.
