Microsoft Corp. today announced that analyst firm International Data Corp. (IDC) released information for the second quarter of 2002 that shows the user base for Microsoft® Windows® Powered Network Attached Storage (NAS) appliance servers has increased to nearly 32 percent in just over a year and a half since launch.*
Because customers are challenged to manage increasing amounts of data and because IT spending is in a down cycle, it is increasingly important that innovative, comprehensive and cost-effective solutions are available to IT administrators and their businesses. This is where Microsoft continues to display its commitment to the industry by devoting resources to NAS and growing the user base. Microsoft continues to work with leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Dell Computer Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co., IBM Corp., Iomega Corp. and NEC Corp. to provide the best tools, services and support for storage solutions to fit a variety of needs, from small organizations to enterprise environments.
