Sony shows off Playstation 2 set top box | |

SONY, CONFIRMING earlier stories, have exhibited the Playstation 2 set top box, which will include a proper DVD recorder and a TV tuner. The unit will start selling in Japan later this year and Sony is also expected to introduce a model for the European and US markets early in the new year. That's likely to prompt Microsoft into action and bring something better on its Xbox platform sooner than expected.
