Microsoft Corp. today announced that Microsoft Windows Advanced Server, Limited Edition version 1.2 will be made available to server OEMs later this month. Windows Advanced Server, Limited Edition 1.2 is based on the same 64-bit code development that will be delivered in the Windows .NET Server family and is optimized to enable customers to take advantage of the performance enhancements in the new Intel Itanium 2 processor. Windows 64-bit operating systems provide science and enterprise customers with substantial scalability performance. Windows Advanced Server, Limited Edition 1.2 is a full-featured, fully supported, 64-bit server operating system suitable for memory- and computation-intensive applications such as those for large database analysis, online transaction processing, business intelligence, scientific computing and simulation models. | ||
