At the CeBIT the company ABIT, well-known for its overclocking-elated products, has shown two new mainboards that provide all current interfaces available, for example six IDE ports and USB 2.0 and Firewire. The two boards are named AT7 (VIA KT333 for AMD CPUs) and IT7 (Intel 854E for Pentium 4). The Intel board works with a FSB of 533 MHz and shall therefore be launched not until April - at that time suitable CPUs will be on the market as well. The AMD board will already be launched at the beginning of April. Both Mainboards come with an equipment that is even more than complete. Apart from standards (2x ATA133, 4x USB) ABIT has also integrated a highpoint chip for four IDE RAID channels. In total twelve drives can be connected to the board. In addition the Taiwanese have soldered a 1394 controller and a USB 2.0 chip from VIA to the board. For each of the two elements the board provides two ports. And additionally, Realtek chips for FastEthernet and 6-channel audio with digital in- and out-put are on the circuit board as well - space finally was very restricted in the connector panel.
