Intel in deal for disposable cell phones | |

Disposable diapers. Disposable cameras. And now, disposable cell phones. Hop-On, based in Garden Grove, Calif., said Wednesday that it had struck an agreement with Intel to provide chipsets for its disposable cell phones. Hop-On said Intel will provide chipsets using the TDMA cell phone standard for use in its disposable phones worldwide. Initial target markets will be in the United States and Latin America, the company said. Hop-On's disposable cell phones, which it says are recyclable, will carry an hour's worth of prepaid calling minutes in the United States. | ||
