The Web may have killed rich, locally-rendered clients, but analysts at Gartner Inc. believe the emergence of Microsoft's .Net platform could mean the return of rich-client application development. Gartner will release more details on its research later this month, but today said it expects that by 2005, 60 percent of new .Net applications to be designed with rich clients in mind, according to Gartner analyst David Smith. | ||
