With a new core switching software named XRN (eXpandable Resilient Networking) 3Com wants to increase the reliability of enterprise networks. The XRN software is available for the first time together with the 3Com switch 4060 that is shown at the CeBIT, but it also can be integrated in the modular core switches of the SuperStack 3/4900 family later. The XRN software intermeshs a variety of local switches to a consistent, decentralized network core. That provides a high reliability and moreover a guaranteed Quality of Services (QoS) is obtained according to 3COm. Additional switching capacity can be integrated in the core later at any time by purchase of gadgets. | ||
