Microsoft says sales in Russia have surged 72 per cent in the year to July as piracy declined and incomes rose, boosting demand for licensed products. Microsoft sold more than two million copies of its Windows XP operating system in the year ended June 30, 76 per cent more than in the previous 12 months, the company says, without divulging exact figures. Russia's economy, boosted by high oil prices, is growing for an eighth straight year, allowing more people to buy products and services such as computer programs. | ||
