It's 1 a.m. Sunday and I can't sleep. Pulling on my robe, I walk downstairs to the office. Slumped in a black leather chair, feet propped on the computer desk next to an empty cereal box and crushed soda can, my son Nate is too focused on manipulating his Xbox® controller to notice me. Talking to his friends via his communications headset, he scans the Halo® 2 screen for alien enemies. "Bedtime, Nate." Nate, a 15-year-old high school student, gets better-than-average grades but could do a lot better. He gets A's and B's on tests but fails to do much of his homework. He has difficulty finding time to complete his assignments because he spends so much time using Xbox. | ||
