Windows Forms 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005 (both codenamed "Whidbey") are the next release of Microsoft’s smart client platform and tools. Using “Whidbey” developers will be able to create professional looking, connected applications in less time and with less code than ever before. Windows Forms "Whidbey" also has a new deployment technology codenamed "ClickOnce" that reduces the cost and effort of deploying and maintaining client applications. “Whidbey” is currently in “Alpha,” with about 2/3rds of the functionality complete – expect a feature complete beta coming in the summer.
