At last getting the special edition DVD it has long deserved, on December 7th Buena Vista Home Entertainment will release the Mary Poppins: 40th Anniversary Edition. This two-disc set will include a new anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, plus a brand-new live action and animated sequence reuniting the film's stars, Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, with music by Oscar-winner Richard Sherman. This new musical number is exclusive to the DVD, which also will boast such extras as a new audio commentary (participants TBA), multiple featurettes, rare television and promotional footage, interactive games, stills and trailers. Retail will be $29.95. | ||
