CD Freaks has received some interesting information about the Benq DW800A 8x DVD burner. While currently it supports only DVD+R/+RW writing, one of their sources has stated that it will get dual format support (adding DVD-R/-RW capabilities) via a firmware update in January 2004. And then a few months later (hopefully the March/April timeframe), they will release a firmware update to allow writing to the dual-layer DVD+R standard.
