Well, Lucasfilm's big Star Wars powwow was held in San Francisco's The Presidio yesterday and - sure enough - the big news is that the original trilogy is finally being released on DVD next year. Here's the breakdown of the release timeline that was discussed: the Original Star Wars Trilogy (Episodes IV - VI) hits DVD in September 2004, the Episode III trailers appear in January 2005, Episode III itself makes its theatrical debut in May 2005 and the DVD lands in November 2005. Look for The Clone Wars animated series, debuting this week on Cartoon Network, to be released on DVD sometime next year. Also be aware that the Original Trilogy DVD releases will be the 1997 Special Edition versions with some additional tweaks and effects. | ||
