ZDnet Australia discusses three of the many security holes that Mac OS X 10.3 Panther fixes, noting that patches are not yet available for users of earlier versions of Mac OS X (e.g. Jaguar): "The first details 'systemic' flaws in the way Mac OS X handles file and directory permissions, while the second details a kernel level vulnerability that does not affect default installations of the operating system. The third involves a buffer overflow conditionthat may be remotely exploitable. Controversially, Apple has not yet released patches for the security issues. @Stake has advised Mac users to upgrade to the latest Apple operating system, which is not vulnerable to the flaws." | ||
