On June 26, 2003, a panel of the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia overturned a lower courts preliminary injunction that would have required Microsoft to carry Suns Java technology in the Windows operating system. The court upheld the same lower court's ruling that Microsoft had infringed on Sun's copyrights.
