Network computer maker Sun Microsystems Inc. will overhaul its line of proprietary microprocessors and mount a more aggressive effort to sell to schools as it attempts to head off lower-priced rival offerings, company executives said on Monday. Sun, which also said it would revamp the way it distributes software, said the efforts plus its N1 computing initiative aimed at automating computer data centers would help customers cut costs, Chief Executive Scott McNealy said at the company's annual analyst conference in San Francisco. | ||
