Microsoft will limit use of 'critical' security bulletins | |

Microsoft Corp., which is trying to improve the security of its software, will limit the use of "critical" security bulletins to customers after users complained they were bombarded with too many high-level alerts. Microsoft will change the services that alert and provide fixes to users of the Windows operating system and other programs to make it clearer which threats need to be addressed immediately, said Mike Nash, vice president of Microsoft's security business. Microsoft has issued 64 software patches and advisories this year in a campaign to improve the security of its programs after vulnerabilities in Windows and other programs led to millions of dollars of damage last year. | ||
