Microsoft Corp., the world's biggest software maker, agreed to buy Vicinity Corp. for $96 million to more quickly design products that help people pinpoint restaurants and other locations on electronic maps. Microsoft will pay cash and will fold Vicinity into its MapPoint business unit, MapPoint general manger Michael Graff said in an interview. The transaction is expected to close before the end of the first quarter of 2003. | ||
