Advanced Micro Devices Inc. on Tuesday cut prices on its microprocessors for laptop computers to make room for new, faster chips, as it seeks to build on its recently won momentum in that market. AMD, which is Intel Corp.'s principal rival in the design and manufacture of microprocessors, said that it had cut prices on its Athlon chips for laptops by as much as 35 percent. | ||
