GreyMagic Security, which has recently reported more than a half-dozen vulnerabilities in Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser, released Tuesday its first warning for users of AOL's Netscape version 6.1 and the Mozilla open source browser project from which much of the Netscape code is derived. The company said a Mozilla-based component known as XMLHTTP that uses Extensible Markup Language (XML) to interpret exchanges with Web severs can be tricked into opening a doorway to files located on an Internet user's own computer. | ||
