Microsoft Research Silicon Valley Road Show 2006: A Look at Future Technologies | |

Tuesday, May 2, Microsoft Corp. will host the third Microsoft Research Silicon Valley Road Show at its Silicon Valley Campus. The event will be open to employees and the public and will showcase some of the latest technologies to emerge from the company’s research labs. A unique twist to this year’s road show is the participation of local high-school students. Microsoft will host approximately 50 high-school students who excel in the areas of math and science. They will be given a private tour of the research projects and will have lunch with the researchers. At the end of the day, the students will vote on their favorite demo booth and announce the winners during an award ceremony. Roy Levin, director of Microsoft Research Silicon Valley, will kick off the event by discussing some of the technology in development at Microsoft Research. A panel discussion on the collaboration of academic and corporate research will follow the introduction, focusing on efforts to encourage young people to pursue careers in math and science. | ||
