Beta-1 Technical Release Now Available!! Thank you for participating in the 2007 Microsoft Office Technical Beta program. The 2007 Microsoft Office Beta-1 Technical Refresh software is now available for you to download on BetaPlace (http://beta.microsoft.com). As previously mentioned, we have two goals for this release: 1. We want you to be able to validate that the fixes to issues you've previously reported about 2007 Microsoft Office do meet your organization's needs. 2. We also want to provide a build of 2007 Microsoft Office that functions on Windows Vista Feb CTP. With this build, we will begin accepting bug and newsgroup submissions regarding the 2007 Microsoft Office Beta1TR build on Windows Vista Feb. CTP. Pre-Installation Requirements 1. Back up your data before installing. As with any Beta software there are risks to installing on your primary or only machine. o It is strongly recommended that you back up any Office files you wish to open/edit with Microsoft® Office (Beta1TR) applications. o The file formats in the 2007 Office system are changing and are still under development. Most documents created in Office 2007 Beta 1 should open in Beta1TR, but we cannot guarantee this. Any important documents should be saved in legacy (doc, xls, ppt) formats. 2. Review the current list of known issues by clicking Known Issues/Readme from the left navigation bar at http://beta.microsoft.com. NOTE: As with all Beta builds, expect to encounter issues including some application failures. 3. Review installation caveats prior to installing this build. Product Installation Keys Below are your Beta-1 TR product installation keys (PID). These PIDs are required for installation of 2007 Microsoft Office Beta. Please remember that these product keys are intended solely for use by you or your company members during the installation of the 2007 Microsoft Office Beta release and should not be shared outside of that context. The expiration date of the PIDs has been extended to July 31, 2006. Beta-1 Archive Archives of the installation files and known issues from the Beta-1 build are available on the 2007 Microsoft Office web site (http://beta.microsoft.com). You can access them by clicking Archives from the left navigation bar. Beta Newsgroup Update With the Beta-1 TR release, we have made several adjustments to the newsgroup list to assist in your Beta-1 TR testing.
