Microsoft Names 11th Female VP, Elevates Tablet PC | |

Microsoft Corp said on Thursday it had promoted Alexandra Loeb to the new position of vice president for its Tablet PC division, making her one of a handful of women with that rank at the software giant. Loeb formerly headed the Tablet PC group as general manager, and her elevation to vice president is a sign Microsoft is placing increasing importance on the product. The size of a thick legal pad, the Tablet PC sports a touch-sensitive screen that can be used to take and edit handwritten notes. It will be pitched as an alternative to laptop computers when it is launched later this year. | ||
