Microsoft's brand-new version of Office for Mac OS X has been highly praised in reviews, but for many users it can't hold a candle to the 13-year-old Word 5.1. Released in October 1991, Word 5.1 is for many the apex of Microsoft software. To fans, Word 5.1 approached perfection: It struck the ideal balance between powerful features and ease of use. While it was simple enough for school kids to use, it facilitated the most complex publishing projects. | ||
