Orange investigating security bug in Microsoft software | |

Anglo-French telecom operator Orange SA is investigating two potential security flaws in the software in its SPV handset, which uses Microsoft Corp.'s mobile phone software. ``We're aware of this issue and will investigate it,'' an Orange spokesman said. ``We are taking it very seriously.'' The SPV uses Microsoft's Smartphone software, a cut-down version of the Windows operating system which Microsoft regards as one of its key new products. The phone's software is designed to allow only programs approved by Orange to run, a move designed to enhance security and also to allow Orange to share in software revenue. However, two separate ways of bypassing this system have been posted on the Internet. | ||
