The mobile phone is in one pocket, the Palm Pilot in another, and the laptop is in the carrying case. Now make room for the tablet PC. In a crowd of technology gurus and early adopters locally last week, enthusiasm was genuinely high for the Microsoft-backed computers launched nationally Nov. 7. "I've been waiting for this for a long time," said Allen Theobald, chief software engineer for Object Methodologies in Covington. "I'm chomping at the bit to get ahold of one of these things.
