It didn't take long for the fireworks to begin at LinuxWorld. While exhibitors at the trade show dedicated to the freely shared Linux operating system were still building booths yesterday, Sun Microsystems launched broadsides at Microsoft and other rivals as it announced a new low-cost, Linux-based server. Sun also hinted it's developing an inexpensive Linux PC for users of its StarOffice productivity suite, posing a challenge to Microsoft's dominant Windows operating system and its Office suite. | ||
