Taking on Intel, Microsoft and a host of third-party manufacturers may seem like an impossible task, but Apple is planning to do it -- again. The computer maker has acquired Zayante, a developer of silicon and software components for devices that use the IEEE 1394 (aka FireWire) standard, with the hope of derailing Intel's USB 2.0 standard before it attains full steam. | ||
