Microsoft's Xbox console is "finished", Kutaragi told the Financial Times. "Microsoft was finished before it even got started. They have no games and retailers in the U.S. are already disappointed." Strong words indeed, from the man behind PlayStation and PlayStation 2. As many people attending E3 thought, Microsoft had a good showing of Xbox (its best yet), but still failed to capture the gaming hearts of the masses – and analysts. Kutaragi's comments are said to reflect a change in opinion among analysts following Microsoft's Xbox showing at E3. Xbox's 16 games "were just extensions of PC games," offered Shunji Yamashina, a games analyst at Societe Generale. "Nobody needs to buy an Xbox." | ||
