Universal Electronics Inc. today announced its acquisition of a line of multimedia protocol technologies that enable custom wireless control solutions for home entertainment hardware and software applications. Designed to support OEM platforms, and their interactive applications and services, Extensible Multimedia Protocol, or XMP(TM), enables the superior delivery, exchange and control of digital media in the home by utilizing the most cost-effective and energy-efficient wireless communication technology available.
