Microsoft C# Language Showing Rapid Usage Gains Among Developers | |

Evans Data Corp. announced today that Microsoft's C# language is rapidly gaining popularity, with 12% of developers today using the language, compared to 7% six months ago. Additionally, 24% expect to use the language during the next year. This rapid embrace of the C# language was revealed in the just completed Spring volume of Evans' North American Developer Survey, an ongoing survey based on in-depth interviews with over 800 U.S. and Canadian developers. The newest language from Microsoft's Anders Heilsberg, C# is being heavily promoted to developers as a key tool in the software giant's .Net Web Services strategy. C# was designed for Microsoft's .Net platform to help speed component development and is similar to both C++ and Java. However, critics have pointed out that, unlike Java, C# produces components optimized for the Windows platform. | ||
