Windows XP Embedded enables developers to create customized run-time images for target devices ranging from Web pads and set-top boxes to self-service kiosks and retail point of sale terminals. It is a componentized version of Windows XP that enables you to optimize the footprint and function of your target device. The size of your run-time image, also known as footprint, is determined by components and features you select, in Target Designer or components you create using Component Designer, as well as their associated dependencies. Depending on the components you select or create, the size of your bootable run-time image may range from less than 5 megabytes (MB) to more than 300 MB | ||
